Special Needs Child Care Connections For Children is affiliated with the County-wide Special Needs Advisory Project (SNAP), which offers support to parents and guidance to child care providers. SNAP focuses on the challenging task of identifying children who have or may be at risk for developmental delays. SNAP also focuses on expanding awareness among parents and informing parents about programs and services available to their children. In addition, SNAP provides training and support for providers interested in caring for children with special needs in order to increase the numbers of non-subsidized providers caring for children with disabilities. SNAP services form a bridge from the ten Los Angeles County Resource & Referral agencies to parents and providers. The SNAP team of experts includes a child psychologist, child behaviorist, mental health specialist, child care specialist, as well as speech, physical and occupational therapists. A full-inclusion specialist is located at each agency. For more information regarding child care for children with special needs, please call us at (310) 452-3325 and ask for the SNAP program. |
